TÜV Rheinland Awards Kimberly the World's First Green Product Mark for Cookware. The certificate was granted to our recently launched cookware products made from recycled aluminum. .

On August 25, 2022, TÜV Rheinland Greater China (hereafter "TÜV Rheinland"), an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, issued the Green Product Mark for cookware to Kimberly Group Limited (hereafter "Kimberly"), making it the first cookware manufacturer in the world to obtain this certification.

Attending the certification ceremony were Wilson Hon, CEO of Kimberly; Cheng Bei, Vice General Manager of TÜV Rheinland Greater China Hardlines; Michael Wang, Senior Manager of Product Sales at TÜV Rheinland Greater China; Chen Yuanfeng, Senior Project Manager of TÜV Rheinland Greater China Systems; Sam Chen, General Manager of Ningbo Beefit Kitchenware Co., Ltd.; and Koay Soo Meng, Director of Manager and Sales Department at ILAG High-Performance Coatings (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

Cheng Bei said in her speech, "As China is moving towards the strategic goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, energy saving, carbon emission reduction, and low-carbon development have become a social consensus. All industries have formulated action plans to reduce carbon emissions. Each stage of the product life cycle involves a large amount of energy consumption, pollutants, and greenhouse gas emissions, so enterprises not only need to pay attention to direct and obvious energy consumption emissions but also need to examine environmental impacts in each stage from the perspective of the entire product life cycle, and take the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions in product design, production, supply, etc. Kimberly attaches great importance to low-carbon development and environmental protection. The green product certification for Kimberly’s non-stick aluminum cookware has received great attention from many cookware brands, and is playing a leading role in the development of green and environmental-friendly cookware. TÜV Rheinland hopes to continuously conduct close cooperation with Kimberly in the future to help it achieve the dual carbon goal efficiently."

As an enterprise focused on developing green cookware, Kimberly's recycled aluminum cookware has been highly recognized by international buyers in the market. In this certification, TÜV Rheinland audited the source and proportion of recycled aluminum claimed in its products according to the ISO 14021 standard, and also assessed and calculated the carbon footprints from raw materials to manufacturing to transportation of finished products according to the ISO14044 and ISO 14067 standards. The results showed that the claimed recycled aluminum proportion aligns with the situation and reaches the international leading level.

Wilson Hon, CEO of Kimberly, said, "I'd like to thank TÜV Rheinland for its recognition. This certification project has helped Kimberly further implement the concept of sustainable development. Kimberly has much interest in the green certification launched by TÜV Rheinland. In particular, the carbon emissions assessment coincides with our low-carbon development goals. We hope to cooperate further with TÜV Rheinland in the future to extend the green product certification to other product categories.

At the same time, Kimberly presented a trophy to TÜV Rheinland to celebrate its 150th birthday, and stated its hope that both parties would work together to write more splendid chapters. The concept of green development and environmental protection has taken deep root in TÜV Rheinland's mission. For 150 years, TÜV Rheinland has been committed to providing safe and sustainable solutions to the challenges arising from the interaction between humans, the environment, and technology, and to promoting society's green and sustainable development. Since 2010, it has been providing green solutions for customers who pay close attention to energy conservation, environmental protection, low-carbon development, and carbon emission reduction. Against the background of accelerated global efforts to tackle climate change and environmental pollution, it has successively launched such professional services as green product certification, product carbon footprint calculation, and carbon neutrality certification to help enterprises seize the opportunities of a recycling economy and achieve green and high-quality development.

In the future, TÜV Rheinland will continue to leverage its certification experience and technical advantages accumulated over the years to help enterprises grasp the development trends of the international market and understand the latest standards and requirements while launching a series of new services to help them protect the environment and achieve sustainable development goals.
